Hydraulic motors convert hydraulic fluid pressure directly into rotational motion. There are gear, vane and piston hydraulic motors.

Hydraulic pumps are used to force hydraulic fluid through a system. They include: gear pumps, gerotor pumps, screw pumps, vane pumps, bent axis pumps and radial piston pumps.

A hydraulic press will transmit pressure through a fluid from one piston to another. Adjusting the relative sizes of the pistons will allow a small force applied over a large distance to be transformed into a larger force, applied over a small distance.
